PommeryWelcome to Reims and to Pommery champagne house.
Founded in 1836, The famous Champagne POMMERY House is characterized by an unique estate and an incredible labyrinth of cellars. Discover the underground world, going down an impressive staircase of 116 steps before visiting the cellars, some of them being settled under spectacular gallo-roman chalk pits.
After the visit, you’ll experience the fresh and refined “Brut Royal” cuvee in the magnificent “Cellier Carnot”.
Cathédrale de ReimsLunch in a typical brasserie of northern France before discovering the cathedral Notre-Dame de Reims. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this masterpiece of gothic art dates from the 13th century. As a reminder of the christening of Clovis, the cathedral was the site of 25 coronations of French kings. Adorned with over 2300 statues, this is the only cathedral to display angels with open wings, including the famous Smiling Angel on the western façade of the north portal. The exceptional stained-glass windows mix styles from the Middles Ages until 20th century (Marc Chagall created the 3 stained-glass windows in the chevet…).
Back to Paris through the lovely “Route du Champagne” without forgetting a stop at Hautvillers, the cute village where the famous monk Dom Pierre Perignon lived and is now burried. Enjoy then the spectacular overview above the most famous vineyards in the world : Champagne !
